it shows how much i think about this website post-social media explosion that i’ve been spamming the heck out of facebook and twitter and forgot to post on my own tiny corner of the internet. anyway, i played last night at the mighty monnik beer co. with my pals the caribbean. it was fun and if you didn’t know because i didn’t post here, well that’s a shame and i’ll double my efforts to be vaguely diligent in adding to the noise of the internet. here’s a flyer and a recording of my set so you can feel like you were there.
quiet on the shedding front. my old pal (and former bandmate) joey yates, who has been a curator at the kentucky museum of art and craft asked me to put together some little tunes for the kmac radio hour on artxfm (97.1 wxox). here are the three miniatures i put together after a bit of conversation with what joey was looking for. a fun little random mission 🙂
otherwise, i’ve been laying low and exploring and tinkering. no live shedding planned, but in the meantime mAAs (tim barnes and i) is returning to the fold to play with our pals coppice. more info on facebook here.
hello, years ago we played a benefit show for jason noble along with endpoint, sunspring, and big wheel (all reuniting). the sets were recorded along with a slew of other shows for jason for a planned release. the physical format never came to fruition, but brian lueken who was working on it has put it all up on bandcamp here. listen to many solid tunes by solid humans who were huge fans of, friends of, and inspired by jason. we are on the third release in there.
hi, i’m playing in mid-may with sam prekop (also of the sea and cake). he’s been doing some swell synthesizer explorations and will be touring to promote his most recent one. the show will be on may 18th at the zanzabar. facebook event here.
i’m also planning some shows in the midwest in late july/early august. if you think you can help, please get in touch. my pal thaniel ion lee has designed a swell new shirt that i’ll have ready by then too.
