“kmac miniatures” + mAAs returns

quiet on the shedding front.  my old pal (and former bandmate) joey yates, who has been a curator at the kentucky museum of art and craft asked me to put together some little tunes for the kmac radio hour on artxfm (97.1 wxox).  here are the three miniatures i put together after a bit of conversation with what joey was looking for.  a fun little random mission 🙂

 

otherwise, i’ve been laying low and exploring and tinkering.  no live shedding planned, but in the meantime mAAs (tim barnes and i) is returning to the fold to play with our pals coppice.  more info on facebook here.

i’m very excited to be playing this tuesday with rafael toral and pete fosco at dreamland here in louisville, ky.  my friend jonah o’neil is accompanying my set with visuals and we’ve been working hard on developing a meaningful audiooptic experience.  afterwards, things will likely quiet down here during the winter.

in the meantime, don’t forget that two new releases came out this year.  in the spring, city state tapes put out a tape called ‘plod and play, vol. 1’ release.  these were a collection of old tone poems that i have gradually compiled over the years.  a second volume will hopefully eventually be released.  later in the summer, west main development put out a cd called ‘four of five in six and seven’, a collage of live recordings from the previous six months prior to release.  i hope you enjoy both.

two more summer shows + an interview

hi all,
the shows have been great so far.  it’s always something i treasure: getting to travel, to experience the challenge and joy of playing new spaces, and have the adventure of meeting new people and seeing new places.  i really appreciate all the friends who helped along the way, new and old, and the spaces for being so unique and memorable.  lots of treasured memories were made.  i still have two more shows this summer coming up:
